Drumline Clinic is over and the new Drumline is picked for the 2008 season! Chris went from 3rd bass to 2nd bass, which is the hardest bass to play.. Also Chris will be LEADERSHIP this year, he is so excited! The drumline is going to be HUGE this year, we have 5 snares, 5 bass's, 3 tenors and 3 symbols.. going to be a huge line compared to last year. Chris being leadership will run weekend bass run throughs here at our house (OH YAY), and he will be in charge of the line.. this is so exciting! This is Chris's 3rd year on the Drumline!
I am proud because I have walked this dream with Chris since he was 9 years old. I use to take Chris to the local DOVER Marching Band Festivals/competitions in NH every year.. we would sit there in the freezing cold, and chris wouldn't care, he would sit on the edge and watch the drumline play, and he would always say to me "someday when I am in high school I am going to be on the drumline"... and every since I made sure that I would make that happen for him.. and when he became a freshman, we went RIGHT to the band director and said "SIGN HIM UP" and he tried out and made DRUMLINE in his freshman year which is very rare! usually freshmans start off in PIT.. and here he is now going into his 3rd year of Marching Band on the drumline.. I am so glad we made this dream come true!
I remember his first performance and the first time the drumline came out to do the cadence, I was so proud my eyes were all watering and I just couldn't believe how fast time had past since he was 9 years old and wanted this.. I am very proud of him!
here is my favorite photo of Chris in Marching Band
